This type of ancestral construction is nothing more than the construction of stone walls of volcanic origin to add to the cultivation area on the slopes of the island. After observing these constructions we will make a brief stop at the São Sebastião belvedere situated 170 metres above sea level and where there is an ideal point to observe the only valley in Madeira Island that cuts through it from north to south.

What an absolute fantastic day. Our host Victor was excellent, friendly and funny and very knowledgeable
He certainly knew the roads and could swing the jeep exceptionally. I would definitely recommend OFF-ROAD Experience and ask for Victor, you will be glad you did.

Excellent trip but cramped jeep
Judith_T, 14-01-2022
Our guide Victor was excellent and we saw some spectacular sights. As we were the only couple on the trip it was a very personal tour.
We were not however aware that the advertised poncho was an additional charge, the jeep was cramped and would have been awful with more people in it and we felt €15 pp was excessive for the meal
