Overview

The West Tour starts off from the reception area of your hotel. The first stop will be at the fishing village of Câmara de Lobos, the typical fisherman village where Sir Winston Churchill used to go to paint. Next Cabo Girão, this absolutely amazing sea cliff will present you with breathtaking panoramic views. Next is Ribeira Brava, its name came from the wild (Brava) river (Ribeira) that flow in this area when the rain falls heavily. After that we go up to Encumeada, where we can find the most amazing and beautiful views of the West Side of Madeira, after that we go towards Paul da Serra, the biggest plateau and the longest straight route in Madeira. After that we get to Porto Moniz, which is famous for its series of natural volcanic pools created by reefs in the coastal lava rocks. The next stop is Seixal, there is a beautiful black sand beach. Our final stop is the town of São Vincent, which is one of the most predominant villages of the northern coast of Madeira island.

Baia de Camara de Lobos
It was this traditional fishing village, situated five kilometres from Funchal, which inspired Sir Winston Churchill to paint its lovely surroundings. The village was given its name by the explorers João Gonçalves Zarco and Tristão Vaz Teixeira because of the shape of its bay and the many Mediterranean monk seals (‘lobos’) living there at the time

Cabo Girao
The Cabo Girão Skywalk is the highest cliff skywalk in Europe, located on top of the cabo Girão Cliff in Madeira Island. The skywalk opened in late October 2012 and is similar to the one in America's Grand Canyon - both are made of transparent glass to provide stunning views to visitors

Pico Ruivo do Paul da Serra
Paul da Serra in the municipal county of Ponta do Sol, Madeira, it is the largest and most extensive plateau of Madeira about 24 square kilometres (9.3 sq mi), with an altitude average of about 1,500 metres (4,900 ft). Its highest point is the peak pico do Paul at 1,640 metres (5,380 ft) from where you can admire the length of the entire plateau. On days with good visibility, both the south and north coasts are visible

Porto Moniz Natural Swimming Pools
The natural swimming pools at Porto Moniz are formed by volcanic lava, naturally filled with crystal-clear sea water.The natural pools of Porto Moniz are the highlight of the village of Porto Moniz. The natural salt water swimming pools are made up of volcanic rock, into which the sea flows naturally.

Seixal
Even nowadays, one of the many charms of Seixal is its serenity allied to a landscape painted with the green of the mountains and the crystal blue of the sea.
This is precisely the stunning scenery of one of the most popular beaches in this parish, Porto do Seixal Beach, a natural black sand beach located right next to Seixal harbour. With a breathtaking landscape — the green cliffs and mountains of the island's north coast — this unsupervised beach offers its visitors access to the toilet facilities, showers and the bar of Clube Naval do Seixal Pools, right next to it, which is a free access facility with a natural pool and sun loungers.
