Would definitely recommend this!

Amazing experience. We only did the tobogganing. Great price- 25 euros in total for 2 people. The queue is long so get there early. Despite it being long, it did move along and it ended up only being a half hour wait on a Friday at around 2pm. We ended up buying the 2 experience photos that are taken whilst you are coming down the steep street...so be ready for these photos to be taken! Nice gift shop at the bottom with a taxi rank and bus stop.
Excellent

Excellent day so €25 for 2 on cable car €25 for gardens and €30 for the sled ride .
Cable car well worth it according to my partner my eyes were tight shut but pics were amazing.
Gardens are nice if you like that kind of thing but be warned same as all of maderia if you go to the bottom you gotta walk back up and the hills are steep flowers are pretty and Japanese garden with koi was lovely . The highlight for me was tucked away they have a huge display if natural stones from quartz tourmaline and Amber to huge pieces of amethyst it is one not to miss .
The sled omg amazing you must do it what fun xxx
Funchal cable car ride

We tried the cable car ride from Funchal water front up to the village of Monte where you can also visit the botanical Gardens if you wish. The cable car ride lasted about 15 minutes one way and we had spectacular views above Funchal. The round trip takes about 39 mins and costs around €16 PER person for the ride on but we worth it
NO TOBOGGAN ON A SUNDAY!
Essexfamily_10, 30-08-2022
We visited on Sunday 28th August, after checking the website for the tobogganing as well which said it was open until 1pm, we purchased a one way ticket at the cable car kiosk as we was obviously planning on coming downin the toboggan, the teller didn’t say “do you want a return? “ Which if she’d have asked the question I would’ve said we were coming down in the toboggan. When we arrived at the summit and made our way to the toboggan area it was quite clear that it wasn’t open. We wasn’t interested in looking at the gardens so ended up buying a bottle of water and then having to pay for a return ticket again at full price to get down. How on earth did they think you would be getting down without the cable car ticket??? A little bit of customer service would’ve clarified this when buying our ticket initially. I have messaged them on their Facebook page twice and had no response so again no customer service.

We have been very disappointed as this was a once in a lifetime experience for us and it has been ruined €50 there and back what a complete waste of money.

Quite frankly the views and gardens are no better than what’s at our hotel so very underwhelmed.
Another cable car and a rare toboggan ride

I decided on the single ride in the cable car without the botanical gardens and then to get to the toboggan back halfway down the hill.
The cable car was 11 euros, the toboggan 30 euros for 2 people..both are pleasant and nice to do and the toboggan is a food an unusual experience with the option to purchase a photo of your ride for 10 euros at the end.
Both of these should be on your bucket list on a madeira trip
