I actually went on a different walk, but turned out even better.
I had a lovely time. Lots of Waterfalls and beautiful walk in the nature.
I can only say good thing about this trip. We'll organised, in time, our guide was excellent, funny and we learned so much about the island and the plants living there.
Thank you!

Excellent walk, not too difficult and stunning views and waterfalls. My 11 year old managed it without a problem. Largely in the shade which was nice. Lovely coffee shop at the end for refreshments.

Wet in places so wear waterproof walking shoes if you can
Stunning views

Really liked the walk. Our pick up time was 8.15-8.30. Mini bus arrived at 9.10am. When we started walking the guide said we will have to walk faster so we can get to the halfway point for lunch. We only had 15 minutes for lunch. Tour guide said he will be leaving car park at 3.50pm so the walkers got walking as they did not want to miss the bus back to Funchal. Did not have much time to take photos. Not pleased with our tour guide, very rude and arrogant. We did like the walk it would be better with a nicer walking guide..
Amazing ..but!

Having done several Levada walks in the past 3 years we decided to try it with a guide (Linda) and a group this time, I need to word this carefully because Caldeirao Verde is a great hike with stunning scenes and drops plus Linda was knowledgable and good fun, there’s no doubt in my mind that on a mountain walk like this (maybe most of them) you’re definitely safer with a guide. That said, this Levada walk is often quite narrow so you end up walking on the gulley edge itself especially as there were so many tourists on the day that we chose to go, it was also so busy when we finally arrived at the waterfall that we couldn’t be bothered to climb the steps through the crowd to see it, we just simply sat down, had a drink and a snack ..looking forward to getting back. In short, this is probably one of the most scenic levada walks but if you’re inexperienced I’d recommend doing it with a guide or picking a much quieter time of the year to go, basically we love wandering at our own pace and 2 days later we did a 3 hour Marocos to Machico extremely easy hike ..but we both thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
