The Valley of Rabaçal is one mother nature's greatest masterpieces. Descending from the plateau of Paul da Serra, we arrive at the Rabaçal guesthouse and from there we walk to the Risco waterfall.
We then continue downwards towards the levada das 25 Fontes until reaching a small lake. This lake is located at the bottom of a cliff from where 25 natural springs cascade into the small lake.
We shall return through a different path passing through a tunnel that carries water to the south side of the island.

Good place to start Levadas. Charlotte was an excellent guide ! The only issue with this trips is that there were a lot of people, but that cannot be avoided I guess
This was the most beautiful walk through lush forest areas and natural water falls. There are fre words to describe how magnificent it is. A must do for visitors and those who live in the area.
Top 3 hike
Amazing day with Lido Tours. Guide Charlotte was perfect. She really made sure it was the perfect day. Was a top 3 hike of my life. We even did this with a 5 & 8 year old and they did great. Really cannot recommend this hike, and especially Charlotte, enough.
A must-do when in...
A must-do when in Madeira. Not a difficult walk and the views were amazing. Very nice and informative guide and top journey through probably the most beautiful levada on the island.
Good Levada Waterfall Walk
We really enjoyed our day visiting this Levada. We were a coach full, but were split 3 groups with a guide each. Our guide was Charlotte who was very knowledgeable and clearly loves her job, making sure everyone was ok and all with a smile. The walk was moderate, mostly flat with a couple of uphill and downhill sections, but you can go at your own pace. This time of year it was inevitably busy with tourist, passing on narrow parts of the Levada. Impressive views, waterfalls decent, but probably more impressive at other times of the year.
What we wished we had know before... when we booked we were told we needed a picnic, water and sturdy shoes - true! We were also told we would be fine in t-shirts and shorts ... would recommend you take an extra layer/lightweight water proof as it is a bit chilly at the start. Luckily we didn't have rain, but a couple of days before, it had been a very soggy walk!
