What To Expect
Your tour begins at 9am with pickup from select Funchal hotels, or from another designated meeting point. Be sure to wear sports shoes with a good grip or hiking boots. It is also essential to bring a picnic as there is nowhere to purchase food for the duration of the 8-hour walking tour.
Having greeted your guide and travel group, you'll begin your walk. As you walk along the footpath, marvel at the display of light and shade filtering through the laurel and heather trees. Admire the trout swimming in the levada along side the path, which will likely dash for cover at yout approach. As you get closer to Lamaceiros, prepare for some excellent views of the town of Porto da Cruz and Penha d'Aguia (more commonly known as Eagle Rock) far below.
After a full day of walking and soaking up marvelous views, your tour concludes back at the original departure point at about 5pm.

Lovely levada walk
This is the second time we went for a walk with this company. With them everything is just perfect.
The minibus turned up at the pickup even a bit early, which was a bonus. The driver was excellent, safe, but fast enough.
Our guide was very knowledgeable, nice and friendly. She gave us clear description of the walk including safety issues, stops, breaks. She kept an eye on the whole group, nobody was left behind even by a minute.
The walk itself was amazing, beautiful, not too hard. Very enjoyable, one of our favourite walks in Madeira.
Levada do Ribeiro Frio
Very pleasant easy walk

We enjoyed our walk, and our guide was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. We were a group of only 7 which was ideal. We would describe it as easy, but you do need to be careful of tree roots in places. At the time the route wasn't particularly busy. Unfortunately the minibus broke down before we left Funchal, but our guide and driver handled the situation well and a replacement arrived after about 45 minutes which meant there was really little problem.
Dealing with Lido Tours was very straightforward and the staff in their office were very helpful. When we went in to pay, the price was lower than the one we had been quoted online, but they happily charged us the lower price!
schöne Wanderung für die ganze Familie
meist relativ breiter Levada-Wanderweg, teils hoch über dem Tal mit schöner Aussicht; leider auch sehr stark frequentiert, vor allem durch Gruppen
