Overview

Make your way up to Eira do Serrado where you'll find one of the most exclusive and beautiful views, not to mention a great "green" location unlike any other in Madeira.

The journey down to the Nuns Valley (Curral da Freiras) village takes approximately 20 minutes where guests will enjoy the countryside, forest brushes mixed with populated areas with quaint houses typical of the Madeiran society. The village is very isolated and locals mainly live off what they cultivate. The local chestnuts are delicious and are used in everyday cooking.

Upon your return, stop at the stunning fishing village of Câmara de Lobos. This is were Winston Churchill spent his time painting his beautiful landscapes and were you will be able to try the famous local drink, Poncha.

I didn’t expect such magnificent views from a short 3-hour trip but if this is what you have and you want to see absolutely breathtaking views of the valley, this excursion is exactly what you need. Jose is an excellent, talkative and nice guy with a great knowledge. To sun it up, you won’t regret it!
Amazing views

The drive into the mountains, then to see (once the clouds moved) the vista. Amazing. Then to visit Churchill village, just in time to see a married couple having there photos taken.
good times

We liked the tour, enjoyed our day and all places we visited. Our driver was also OK and it was only few of us that day so minibus was also not cramped and nice to travel with. Only thing we did not like was the very tight schedule – and yes, we get it but at the same time we felt like we did not experience the places properly as we were constantly rushing and checking the clocks, so we get back to the bus on time. Stops needs to be longer, 30 minutes for Camara De Lobos is not enough, add at least 15 on top / 30 if possible so people can enjoy it properly.
