What To Expect

Lokoloko - Mountain Bike & Outdoor Tours
Starting point

• Admission Ticket Free

After a small briefing with tips and tricks about the tour and the mountain bike, the tour starts at Poiso (Alt.1400m) with a small and easy uphill.

60 minutes • Admission Ticket Free

Moments later and after the guide's suggestion based on the skills of the riders, we have the possibility to ride in some easy single trails or to continue on the road and dirt roads until we get to the 'levada' (water-channel). From here (Alt.850m) it is a 20km relaxed ride along the 'levada' where we will be surrounded by a beautiful mixture of laurel, eucalyptus and pine trees.

60 minutes • Admission Ticket Free

Near the village Camacha we stop for a cold drink and a light lunch in a very typical bar. After the stop, we continue our 'levada' that crosses through the colorful village of Camacha, before we start our final ride with more or less 10km of smooth road, all the way down back to the Lokoloko shop, that only requires the effort of fingers on the brakes, but always with a big view over the ocean.

Thank you! Cool tour guides! We enjoyed the Mountainbike tour. Lunch where the locals eat. Really a good experience.
Highly recommended

Had a fantastic day out on the mountain bike, expertly guided by Jimmy.
Initially more 'downhill' type terrain than I expected, but nothing too serious and the guide will happily change the route to accommodate the experience of thee riders.
The pace was steady throughout the day, and no one is left behind. I covered around 32kms, but as you start towards the top of the mountain, most of the cycling is downhill.
The bikes are good quality, and probably made me look like a better rider than I am.
I highly recommend this tour.
One word of warning...the temperature in the hills at the start can be much cooler than down near sea level. It would be advisable to take a jacket to stay warm at the start as you might be in the clouds.
Brilliant day moutain biking

Brilliant day with our guide Sergio. Enjoyed it so much that we booked a second tour. Do need to be able to handle a bike, so not for complete beginners. Great way to see parts of the island and enjoy the flaura and fauna. Quite muddy and lots of puddles when we did the tour, but just embrace it.
Would highly recommend.
We had a lovely time with Jimmy!

We had a lovely time with Jimmy. There was only 4 guests in total, so we were able to chat a little more than if it had been a big group.
Jimmy was friendly and helpful. He clearly loves mountain biking and is at home on the island.
We did the beginners trail, which was still quite challenging at times, and the terrain changed quite often, from rocks, to road, to dusty paths, to forest paths, to asphalt again.
The ride down the mountain was a mixture of mountain biking and sightseeing and we felt that it might have felt smoother if it had focused on one or the other. Jimmy is more of a professional biker than a tour guide, which is fair for this kind of activity. He was very attentive to our different needs and was always ready to help.
The views were beautiful, the trails overall easy to navigate. We had great weather, and had a lot of fun. Thanks Jimmy!
Excellent bike ride for beginners

For beginners this ride was excellent. For riders with more experience and you just want to get out on your bike and explore it’s very good. In my group I had the most experience so the guide catered for the majority as you would expect.
